Towing & roadside help
Are you really open 24 hours?
Yes. We answer calls and texts around the clock, seven days a week. Tell us where you are and we’ll give you an honest idea of how soon a truck can get there.
What areas do you tow in?
Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, Rathdrum, Dalton Gardens, Hayden Lake, Spirit Lake, Athol and the rest of Kootenai County. Need a longer haul? Call and ask. We’ll tell you straight whether it’s a job for us.
How much does a tow cost?
It depends on the distance, the vehicle, and whether it needs extra work like winching or special handling. We keep our rates among the most affordable in the Coeur d’Alene area. Ask for the price on the phone before we head out. Our guide to what goes into a towing bill explains the usual charges.
Can you tow my AWD or 4×4 vehicle?
Yes. Tell us it’s all-wheel or four-wheel drive when you call. Many AWD vehicles should travel with all four wheels off the ground, or with special equipment, to avoid drivetrain damage. Read flatbed or wheel-lift? to learn why.
Do you do lockouts, jump-starts and fuel delivery?
Yes, plus flat-tire changes (with your spare) and winch-outs from ditches, snow and mud. If a child or pet is locked in a hot or cold vehicle, call 911 first.
How do I pay?
Cash, check or card. Card payments carry a small processing fee.
Towed vehicles & impounds
My car is gone. How do I know if it was towed?
Check the signs where you parked for a towing company’s name and number. If it says C.A.R.S. of Idaho, call us at (208) 964-3081. If police had it towed, call the police non-emergency line. Please check before reporting it stolen.
What do I need to bring to get my vehicle back?
A photo ID, proof of ownership (title or registration) and payment for the tow and storage. If someone else is picking it up for you, they need a power of attorney from the owner. Call ahead so we can meet you.
Can I get my things out of the car before I pay?
Yes. Under Idaho Code 49-1814, personal property in a towed vehicle is returned to the registered owner (or an agent with a power of attorney) during reasonable business hours at no charge, unless the vehicle is being held for a police investigation.
What happens if I don’t pick up my vehicle?
Storage charges keep adding up each day. The Idaho Transportation Department sends notices to the owner and any lienholder, and if the vehicle isn’t claimed or disputed, the tow company can apply for its title 30 days after the first notice. Call us early and we’ll help you sort it out.
I think I was towed unfairly. What can I do?
Call us first. Many problems are simple misunderstandings. You also have the right to file a declaration of opposition with the Idaho Transportation Department within 20 calendar days of the first notice (Idaho Code 49-1808). See your rights when your vehicle is impounded.
Do property owners pay for parking enforcement?
No. We post the signs at no cost to you. When an unauthorized vehicle is removed, the vehicle’s owner pays the towing and storage charges to get it back.
Repossession
Can a repossession agent take my car without warning?
In Idaho, a lender can usually repossess after a default without going to court, as long as it’s done without a breach of the peace (Idaho Code 28-9-609). Your contract explains what counts as default. Read how repossession works in Idaho.
How do I get my belongings out of a repossessed vehicle?
Call us at (208) 964-3081 to set up a time. Bring a photo ID. Your personal belongings aren’t part of the loan collateral and we keep them safe until you collect them.
Can you give my car back if I pay you?
No, we work for the lender. Only your lender can tell you the amount needed to redeem or reinstate the loan. Once they authorize the release, we’ll coordinate getting the vehicle back to you.
Is a voluntary surrender better than a repossession?
It can save some fees and stress, but it’s still a repossession in the eyes of your loan and your credit report, and you may still owe a balance after the sale. See voluntary surrender vs. repossession.
